Medicube PDRN Pink vs Zero Pore: Which Line Is For You?
Pick the line before you pick the product. PDRN Pink is repair and firming; Zero Pore is oil control and texture. They solve opposite problems, and Medicube's range is large enough that starting with a product rather than a line is how people end up with something that does not suit their skin.
The short version: if your complaint is dullness, fine lines or skin that looks tired, start in PDRN Pink. If it is shine, blackheads and visible pores, start in Zero Pore.
What is PDRN Pink for?
PDRN — polydeoxyribonucleotide — is a DNA fragment, usually salmon-derived, that came out of Korean wound-healing medicine before it reached a serum bottle. It works on repair rather than resurfacing: calming inflammation, supporting the barrier, and building firmness gradually.
That makes it unusual. It does not exfoliate, sting or purge, so it layers with almost anything and suits reactive skin that cannot tolerate acids or retinal at all.
Choose PDRN Pink if: your skin is dull, crepey, losing bounce, or reactive; you want firmness without irritation; you are pregnant or otherwise cannot use vitamin A; you have tried actives and they keep going wrong.
Good entry points are the PDRN Pink Niacinamide Milky Toner and the PDRN Pink Collagen Capsule Cream. For the longer explanation, read what is PDRN?
What is Zero Pore for?
Zero Pore is the opposite job. Acids, clay and oil control, aimed at congestion, shine and rough texture.
Worth repeating because the line name implies otherwise: you cannot shrink a pore. What Zero Pore does is keep pores clear so they stop casting a shadow, and reduce the oil that refills them.
Choose Zero Pore if: you are shiny by midday; you have blackheads across the nose and chin; your texture feels grainy; makeup sits badly.
Start with the Zero Pore Pad 2.0, two or three nights a week — and read pores and blackheads before you do, because frequency matters more than product choice here.
Can you use both?
Yes, and for combination skin it is often the right answer — but not as two full routines stacked on each other.
The workable version is by time or by zone:
- By night. Zero Pore pads two nights a week; PDRN on the other nights. They are not competing, they are taking turns.
- By zone. Zero Pore on an oily T-zone, PDRN on drier cheeks. Using different products on different parts of your face is completely normal and slightly under-used.
What does not work is exfoliating acids and everything else on the same night, every night. That is how combination skin becomes sensitised skin.
Which line for which concern?
| Your main complaint | Start here |
|---|---|
| Dullness, tired-looking skin | PDRN Pink |
| Fine lines, loss of firmness | PDRN Pink |
| Redness, reactivity | PDRN Pink |
| Shine and oil by midday | Zero Pore |
| Blackheads, congestion | Zero Pore |
| Rough or grainy texture | Zero Pore |
| Post-blemish marks | Either, plus niacinamide |
Is PDRN just a trend?
It is the biggest thing in K-beauty right now, which is a fair reason to be sceptical. Two things are worth separating.
The mechanism is real and predates skincare — PDRN has a documented history in Korean regenerative medicine. What is less established is how much a topical cosmetic concentration achieves compared with clinical use, and brands are not always careful about that distinction.
What you can reasonably expect from a topical PDRN product: better hydration, less reactivity, and a gradual improvement in firmness over months. What you should not expect: a clinical-grade result from a serum.
What about the rest of the Medicube range?
There are other lines — collagen, exosome, vitamin C — but PDRN Pink and Zero Pore do most of the work and cover most concerns. Adding a third line before you have given either of the first two three months is usually how a shelf gets complicated and a routine stops working.
One product, one job, three months. Then reassess.

Quick answers
Can I use PDRN with retinal? Yes. PDRN is one of the few things that layers comfortably with vitamin A — it is doing repair while retinal does resurfacing.
Is PDRN safe in pregnancy? It is not a retinoid, which is the usual concern, but check any product with your doctor or midwife rather than relying on a category.
How long until PDRN does anything? Hydration and calm within days. Firmness is a months-long change, not a weeks-long one.
Which is better value? Neither. They do different jobs — buying the wrong one is the expensive outcome, not the price difference.
