Some By Mi: The 30 Days Miracle, and How to Not Overdo It
Some By Mi is known for one thing: the AHA-BHA-PHA 30 Days Miracle range. The name is doing a lot of work, so it is worth unpacking.
What the three acids actually do
AHA is water-soluble and works on the surface — texture, dullness, uneven tone.
BHA (salicylic) is oil-soluble, so it gets inside the pore. This is the one that clears congestion.
PHA is the gentle one — larger molecules, slower penetration, far less irritating.
Together they cover surface, pore and sensitivity in a single product, which is genuinely useful. But it also means you are using three exfoliating acids at once, and that is where people go wrong.
The rule that matters more than the product
Two or three nights a week. Never nightly. Never the same night as retinal.
The "30 days" framing pushes people toward daily use. Daily use of three acids is how a manageable congestion problem becomes a stripped, sensitised barrier that breaks out worse than it started.
If your skin stings on application or goes red, you have done too much. Stop for a week and restart at half the frequency.
The rest of the range
Yuja for brightening — gentler than the acid range and fine for daily use. Retinol for texture and firmness, on the nights you are not using acids.
Where to start
The toner or cleanser from the Miracle range, two nights a week, with a moisturiser after. Read the blemish guide first if congestion is your main concern — gentler usually wins.
